We partnered with The Economist to create this animated explainer video for the global investment bank, UBS. They needed a compelling and visually engaging way to tell the story of O’Connor, their distinct multi strategy hedge fund platform.

The objective was to move beyond simple text facts and figures, illuminating the fund’s unique history and strategy in a format that was both educational and engaging for a sophisticated financial audience.

Our role was to manage the creative and production workflow, translating UBS’s core message into a dynamic animation.

The Challenge: Telling a niche investment story

O’Connor is a highly specialised division within UBS, with a rich history and a distinct investment approach. Communicating its heritage and strategy required more than a simple text presentation, it needed a compelling narrative that captured attention and reinforced the brand’s strength.

The challenge was to distill the key facts and historical milestones of the O’Connor platform into a short and timeline aniamtion. The video needed to reinforce UBS’s expertise and leave a lasting impression on viewers.

It began with an in depth briefing and creative direction phase to align on the project’s goals and core messaging.

With a clear vision established, our team developed a comprehensive storyboard that outlined the video’s narrative flow and structure.

We then moved to design and asset preparation, creating all the visual elements to ensure brand consistency and conceptual clarity.

Our animators brought the storyboard to life with a dynamic pace, before our music and sound design team layered in the final audio elements to enhance the video’s impact and professional polish.
